 Battle City started as a semi-acoustic duo in 2005 by Angelo Estrella and Jason Barleta. The early songs were stripped down, troubadour pop songs intended for drinking sessions. Noticing that the songs were taking the life of its own, the two decided to make it an official band. They were quickly joined by Al Barleta and Jake Lapuz.
